Study Abroad FAQ

How and when should I study abroad?

Study abroad lends breadth and depth to an undergraduate education. Appalachian has a wide-variety of programs available from faculty-led programs that last two to four weeks to semester or year long exchanges at international partner institutions. It is never too early to plan your study abroad. It is also possible to participate in multiple opportunities over the course of your undergraduate career.

For the Global Connections Certificate, a study abroad program that includes at least three course credits is required. Appalachian has a variety of opportunities available for credit, from Alternative Service Experiences to the longer programs mentioned above.
