Are you passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare or social services and ready to increase your Spanish proficiency and cultural knowledge you need to excel in your field? Join us for a preview of our Spanish for Healthcare and Social Services courses, and learn about our new minor program in Spanish for the Health and Helping Professions, launching Fall 2023.

Brownbag Lunch:  Find YOSEF money for Study Abroad!
Grab a sandwich, and head to LSD for a workshop on all the ways and places to find funding for study abroad. Potato chips and drinks provided!

This interactive workshop shares tips on how to start now to find funding for short-term faculty-led, internships, semester-long and year-long study abroad programs. DLLC's Dr. Beverly Moser, member of the Advisory Board for National Competitive Scholarships, takes students through all the different sources of funding to make sure that study abroad can be a part of your language study-- either while you're at Appalachian-- or a year or two after you've completed your degree.

Exploring Languages & Cultures with Virtual Reality
Dr. Paul Sebastian and Dr. Elizabeth Deifell will offer hands-on demonstrations of how languages & cultures can be explored using Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headsets. The demonstrations will be offered on a rolling basis so feel free to stop in any time between 2-5pm on Thursday to test drive this new technology. Students interested in any language area are welcome!
