Academic achievement
Gabrielle Motta-Passajou teaches language courses in the Departments of Spanish and French. She also teaches capoeira classes in Watauga Global Community. She directs an annual event each April at Appalachian called Festa do Brasil, which features mestres of capoeira and other treasures of Brazilian culture; she also teaches capoeira workshops throughout the state. She also translates English and Portuguese articles into French for Mongobay.com and GlobalVoices.com.
